Description de la plante carnivore

Sarracenia Hurricane Creek White is a plant native to North America, discovered at the Hurricane Creek site in Alabama. The original plants were collected and preserved by John Hummer before their habitat was completely destroyed and converted into a pine plantation. Among the naturally occurring Sarracenia, Hurricane Creek White has the whitest urns. There are several clones, of which clone F is one of the whitest, sometimes a dazzling pure white.

Maintenance tips :

Temperature: Can withstand temperatures exceeding 40°C in summer, as well as freezing temperatures down to -15°C in winter, but only for short periods with positive temperatures during the day.
Water: For watering, use the capillary method, making sure to constantly maintain a water level of at least 4 cm, or more depending on the height of the pot. Use only rain, demineralized or reverse osmosis water. During periods of high summer heat, increase the water level to halfway up the pot.
Light: Exposure to full sun outdoors or in a glass or plastic greenhouse.
Dormancy: All Sarracenia need a dormant period from October until March. The urns turn brown and die during this time. Leave them outside in full sun, always in a soggy substrate. Not giving a dormant period in winter could cause the plant to die back. You can learn more about proper care here.
Substrate: Choose a substrate with blond sphagnum peat mixed with perlite. (we recommend a mixture of 50% peat and 50% perlite.) You can also find a special substrate designed for carnivorous plants in our online store here.
