Description de la plante carnivore
Drosera ‘Hercules’ is a hybrid resulting from the cross between Drosera capensis ‘Albino’ and Drosera aliciae. Drosera ‘Hercules’ was registered with the ICPS by Carson Trexler in December 2017, after he received it from Matt Byers in 2016, who had acquired it from someone else. Unfortunately, the original creator is unknown, as Matt Byers lost track of its exact origin.Drosera ‘Hercules’ is an impressive plant, with exceptionally wide petioles at the base of the leaves, which are themselves even wider, enhancing the robust appearance of this variety. The mucilage-bearing tentacles are a vivid red. Its flower stalks are long and covered with non-glandular hairs. The flowers themselves are pink and significantly larger than those of D. capensis. Drosera ‘Hercules’ seeds are self-fertile. Originally, Drosera ‘Hercules’ is somewhat fragile; however, plants grown from these seeds are much more robust.
Seed-grown plants and those produced by vegetative propagation of Drosera ‘Hercules’ are identical in their visible characteristics. However, plants grown from seed are best referred to as ‘Hercules’ x self.
This description of Drosera ‘Hercules’ was written by S. Alain and approved by Carson Trexler on November 14, 2024.
