Description de la plante carnivore
Sarracenia rubra x OP - ASX015, open pollinated hybrid, seedling from the Carnivore nursery in Sologne. Very beautiful Sarracenia with beautiful green colours, shades of yellow towards the top of the pitcher and red veins inside. The traps can measure more than 60 cm, with many pitchers leaving in spring.
Mother plant pictured. You will receive a division of this one, in adult size ML.
Care instructions:
Temperature: Sarracenia can withstand temperatures exceeding 40°C in summer and resist frosts down to -15°C in winter.
Water: For watering, use the capillary method, making sure to constantly maintain a water level of at least 4 cm, or more depending on the height of the pot. Use only rainwater, demineralized or osmosis. During periods of high summer heat, increase the water level to half the pot.
Light: Exposure to full sunlight outdoors or in a glass or plastic greenhouse.
Dormancy: All Sarracenia need a dormant period from October to March. The pitchers turn brown and die during this period. Leave them outside in full sun, always in a soggy substrate. Not giving them a dormant period in winter could cause the plant to die. You can learn more about care here.
Substrate: Choose a substrate with blond sphagnum peat moss mixed with perlite. (We recommend a mixture of 50% peat and 50% perlite.) You can also find a special substrate designed for carnivorous plants in our online shop here.
